James M. Scanlon, MD, FACS
James M. Scanlon, MD is a board certified Vascular Surgeon. Dr. Scanlon earned his medical degree with distinction from The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at The George Washington University Medical Center, which included a research fellowship in trauma/critical care at Inova Fairfax Hospital. He then completed his fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Georgetown University and the Washington Hospital Center also in Washington, D.C. Dr. Scanlon has published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals, authored invited commentary for surgical journals and several text book chapters, and presented original research topics at national surgical meetings.
Dr. Scanlon is board certified in both vascular and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. His special interests and training are in minimally invasive and open surgical treatment of carotid, aortic, renal and peripheral arterial disease, as well as the treatment of venous disorders such as vein clots, varicose veins and other cosmetic vein problems. Dr. Scanlon is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, the International Society for Endovascular Specialists, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Russell W. Becker, DO, FACOS
Russell W. Becker, DO is a board certified Vascular Surgeon. Dr. Becker graduated from Michigan State University and then completed medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He returned to Michigan State University for his internship and residency in general surgery. Dr. Becker then completed his fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Becker is well published in the vascular surgical literature and has served as an investigator in several new and developing clinical device trials, as well as clinical faculty in vascular surgery at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
Dr. Becker is board certified in vascular surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. His clinical interests and experience are in all facets of vascular and endovascular treatment of carotid artery disease, upper and lower extremity peripheral arterial disease, aortic aneurysmal disease, hemodialysis access and maintenance, and venous disease. He is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, the American Association for Vascular Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.
